Wearables and Healthcare Integration: Principles for Data Quality Management
The rapidly growing market of medical and consumer wearables is resulting in increasing adoption of remote patient monitoring initiatives. However, as wearables data is collected under patient supervision in a dynamically changing environment outside the clinical setting, its quality imposes risks to the safety and quality of care. This reduces the data reliability for integration into clinical workflows and use in routine clinical practice. In a PhD project, developed data quality management principles were developed that outline requirements to collect and manage good quality data from wearables for patient care.
